Tierra Data Recovery is UK based and run by Tom Rattray with a team of highly experienced data recovery engineers. Over the past seven years Tierra has recovered data for government departments, the NHS and universities as well as PLCs, small businesses and home users. We work with IT companies all over the UK – from Cornwall to Orkney. We’ve performed SC101 recoveries for overseas customers as far afield as Australia (that’s as far as our reach extends…).

We developed the SC101 data recovery program from scratch by reverse-engineering the ZFS San file system using a combination of the patent and hex editing many failed SC101 hard drives. It’s not everybody’s cup of tea and it was not a cheap or easy process. In addition to learning the peculiarities of the file system, we had to grow to love the idiosyncracies of the ways it failed. Sometimes the hard drives develop mechanical problems – that’s fine, pulling data from dead hard drives is our core business.

As an engineer led business we don’t just go through the motions of data recovery – giving up if the job is too complex – as our customer testimonials confirm.
